Ares Contrast TG FL-475 (Flatland.)

Ares Contrast TG Signature FL-475 Complete Bike review

Ares is also starting to adopt the low TT approach like Quamen and KGB in their frame design.  Low top tube means increase clearance both on the top.  I decided to import the FL-475 (18.7") top tube only, because the FL-450 (17.7") was way too short for the standard Hong Kong riders.  The design of the down tube (also similar to Quamen and KGB) also means more foot clearance for front wheel tricks.

As 36Holed rims are also becoming more popular in the Flat scene, Ares have also used 36H rims on both front and rear to cut down on weight on the TG complete bikes.

Even though, the Contrast range was suppose to be a less expensive alternative to the Ares range, the quality is almost exactly the same as their more expensive counterparts.  Starting with the frame, the design, welding and paint are all very well made and detailed in every part, and the parts that come with the bike is everything you would expect on a well made flatland bike.  The bike come with Ares designed forks (with offset) and 0 off set 2 piece bars, similar to the D.I.T.A Bars, Tektro Brakes (Front and Rear), OPC 152MM one piece crank, aluminum seatpost, Velo saddle with handles, 28/14 gear ratio with Taska freecoaster rear hub, 88 Plastic pedals, 88 grips, 4 x aluminum pegs, 35mm stem and 10mm front and rear dropouts.

Overall, this is a very well made entry to intermediate level complete bike with a good price tag, that really deserves the signature tag that it has on it.
